Tundra

The tundra is a treeless polar biome found in the Arctic and on high mountains (alpine tundra). Its soil remains frozen for much of the year—a layer called permafrost.

During the short summer, wildflowers bloom, and migratory birds arrive to nest. Animals like musk oxen, Arctic hares, and snowy owls are specially adapted to survive the long, harsh winters.
